|...last night was day 87/90 - it was tough to attend due to scheduling; so much writing left to do for school!  The good news is I'm catching up; I have to defend my thesis 22 November back in NY, and I've got 8 assignments due before 1 December.

Surprises of suprises, a new guy has started attending the clubhouse, a man with good sobriety and our Book under his arm (not the guy above).  Hope springs eternal - I've reached out to two 'old timers' out here thus far and they were utterly useless  - this guy is the real thing, and for that I am graterful.  Though he missed the meeting, he did make it a point to call me today, sick, and explain why he wasn't there.  THAT is AA.

On the dark side, a few individuals at that particular meeting seem to forget the long form of the Third Tradtion: "Our membership ought to include all who suffer from alcoholism. Hence we may refuse none who wish to recover. Nor ought A.A. membership ever depend upon money or conformity. Any two or three alcoholics gathered together for sobriety may call themselves an A.A. group, provided that, as a group, they have no other affiliations.", listed on page 563 of our Book.

THAT means that all those who conspire to silence others, who plan intimidation by group confrontation, or any of a dozen other sick behaviors I've seen witnessed, are going to drink and die.  Or, more accurately in their cases, 'use' or whatever term it is that drug addicts hiding out in AA use, and die.

The sooner the better.  Real Alcoholics are paying a terrible price for these junkies hiding out in AA.  At what point does live and let live become apathy?  Why must drug addicts sneak into AA?  Whoever thought the day would come when people would lie to get into AA?

Now, that's sick.

Welcome as a witness to a fools journey out of the darkness. I welcome all tidings - you are all my teachers on this path toward a meaningful and purposeful sobriety.
